Famous Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of frozen bread dough
  • ½ c of sugar
  • 4 tbs butter
  • 1 TBS cinnamon
  • Icing
  • 1 c. confectioner sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 -3 tbs whole milk

Instructions

Prep Time: 5 hours, 15 minutes

Equipment: loaf pan, parchment paper, basting brush

  1. Line the loaf pan with parchment paper and place frozen bread dough in the loaf pan.
  2. Next, make four deep slashes into the top of the loaf and set aside to thaw for one hour.
  3. After one hour,  melt butter and mix sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Baste the dough loaf in butter. Be sure to get the butter into the deep slashes and sprinkle generously with sugar cinnamon mixture.
  5. Then flip the loaf over, baste the bottom, and sprinkle generously with the sugar-cinnamon mixture and proceed with doing the top once more until all the butter and sugar-cinnamon mixture is used.
  6. Place dough in a warm place for 4 hours or until it’s above the top of the loaf pan.
  7. Place in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  8. While cooking, make the icing by mixing confectioners sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, and 2 TBS of milk until creamy and set aside.
  9. When cinnamon bread is done, drizzle icing over the top and serve warm.
