I love back roads, and my favorite stops are local thrift stores and small-town garage sales:
- I look for things that are sentimental to me but small and can be repurposed in my trailer.
- I love old insulated beverage containers. They are a throwback to my childhood and come in so many patterns. I use them to hold coffee, sugar, bouillon cubes, and small pastas. They pack very tightly and look pretty displayed on the counter or as a vase on a picnic table.
- I also like old plaid wool blankets and raggedy quilts – the more beat-up the better. I place them on my campfire chair for added warmth and put them on my bed.
- Find things that speak to you, reflect a style you love or accentuate your personality. That’s the most important element of collecting anything – make it about what makes you happiest!
