Stories from the Road: How Laura Borichevsky Uses Her RV to Inspire Women Travelers

How Laura Borichevsky turns her vintage travel trailer into a mobile studio, sharing inspiring stories of female road travelers through her podcast, Women on the Road.

I think it is really crucial for all of us to understand that there are so many different ways to do road travel and that’s one of the basic principles that underline the show; that there is no wrong way to do it.

For Laura Borichevsky, the road is a source of endless stories. As the host of the popular podcast Women on the Road, Laura has spent years amplifying the voices of female road travelers. Her vintage travel trailer, which she uses as a mobile studio, allows her to connect with women across the country, share their journeys, and inspire others to hit the road.

The Mission Behind the Microphone

“One of my jobs and responsibilities as a podcast host, especially for female road travelers, is to bring stories to light that haven’t been shared before or haven’t been shared enough,” Laura explains. Her podcast focuses on the diverse ways women experience road travel, proving there’s no single “right” way to do it. “There’s no wrong way to do it,” she emphasizes, a core principle that underpins her show.

Since launching Women on the Road, Laura has recorded over 80 episodes, all while traveling in her vintage trailer. “It’s taught me the importance of using my voice,” she says. “And it’s also shown that it’s important for everyone to be able to get their stories out there because everybody has a story to share.”

Capturing the Beauty of Road Travel

Podcasting on the road has its challenges, but for Laura, the rewards far outweigh them. “What a lot of people don’t know is that oftentimes I sit on the other side of my microphone and usually I’m holding tears back because the stories are really beautiful,” she shares.

Each guest brings unique experiences, creating a tapestry of perspectives that reflect the boundless possibilities of road travel. “It’s kind of like road travel in itself,” Laura explains. “You don’t know what’s going to come up next, but the more you listen and keep your eyes open, the more you’re going to learn and discover.”

A Mobile Studio with a Mission

Laura’s vintage travel trailer is her creative hub. Parked outside places like Moab, UT, her trailer transforms into a studio where she conducts interviews and produces her episodes. Its small, comfortable space mirrors the intimate nature of her conversations, making it the perfect setting for diving deep into the lives and journeys of her guests.

The trailer’s mobility allows Laura to connect with women wherever their travels take them, from sprawling deserts to bustling campgrounds. This flexibility is key to her mission of bringing authentic, diverse stories to her audience. “Being able to share those stories as a podcast host, have those in-person connections, and get their voices out there has continued to inspire other females to hit the road too,” she says.

The Transformative Power of Travel

Through her podcast, Laura has witnessed how road travel changes lives—including her own. “Turns out road trips can change your life,” she reflects. Each journey brings unexpected lessons and connections, reinforcing her belief in the power of storytelling to inspire and empower.

Lessons from Laura’s Journey

For those considering starting their own creative projects from an RV, Laura offers these insights:

  • Embrace the Unknown: Like road travel, storytelling involves surprises. Stay open to the unexpected.
  • Create Your Space: Whether it’s a vintage trailer or a modern RV, build a space that supports both work and relaxation.
  • Listen and Learn: Pay attention to the voices and experiences around you; every story has value.
  • Stay True to Your Mission: Keep your purpose at the forefront, whether it’s sharing stories, creating art, or exploring new places.

Looking Ahead

As Laura wraps up another inspiring conversation, her travel trailer stands ready for the next adventure. “I can’t wait to see where the next one takes me,” she says with a smile. For Laura Borichevsky, the road ahead is full of possibilities—and countless stories waiting to be told.

With her RV as her studio, Laura proves that life on the road isn’t just about the destinations; it’s about the connections, the stories, and the moments that make every mile meaningful.
