When you’re planning to hit the road for an RV vacation, finding a pet-friendly campground is essential. With amenities like on-site dog parks, bathing stations, agility equipment, and even individually fenced campsites, these eight RV parks are the “ultimutt” destinations for canine campers.
It’s hard to imagine a better vacation with Fido than a camping trip to Waggin’ Tail Ranch RV Resort, just north of Dallas. Each RV site is fully fenced, so your four-legged family member can relax by your side leash-free while you gather around the picnic table for breakfast or spend an evening stargazing. With two size-specific fenced dog parks, pups can play with other furry campers on their own level and show off their talents on agility equipment, then make a splash in the dog pond. You’ll be able to clean up at the grooming area before enjoying dinner with your pooch and his new friends at the community pavilion. After dinner, kick back at the covered “paws and swing” area, or let Fido join you for a game of cornhole, washers, or Connect Four.
Located in North Texas Horse Country, Pilot Point is the “pawfect” place to escape and unwind. Pay a visit to nearby Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois to explore over 20 miles of pet-friendly hiking trails, geocache, or cast a line with your furry angler.
