Ryan Robinson takes you for a ride in the passenger seat of his RV, off the grid, deep among the dramatic rock formations of the Utah Desert. Robinson and friends chill by the fire, tell stories, and of course, rig a one of a kind highline over the Looking Glass Arch in Moab, UT.

When I started planning this vacation with my mom, I had yet to hear about peer-to-peer RV rental platforms. I’ve always wanted to take my mom on vacation, just the two of us, so I wanted this vacation to be extra special since it was our first vacation together. We’ve watched many of our friends take exciting RV trips and renting an RV seemed like the best way to make the most of our time while visiting the Las Vegas area.
I started by exploring Go RVing to determine the best type of RV for our Las Vegas adventure. Since there are so many different RV types, like motorized and towable, as well as a range of sizes, I needed to find one that best suited our needs for this trip.
You Don’t Have To Own An RV To Take An RV Vacation
We wanted to explore the Vegas strip, the desert, and some state parks and decided that a towable RV would be best for this trip. This way we could use our car for day trips, disconnected from the travel trailer, and explore the area freely.
In browsing Outdoorsy, a peer-to-peer RV rental company, I learned that you can have RVs and travel trailers delivered and set up at the campground of your choice. While there are a handful of companies that offer peer-to-peer RV rentals, I liked Outdoorsy because of its wide selection—you can choose from pet-friendly rental options or luxury vacation rentals.
Renting an RV was the perfect option for us to try out the RV lifestyle and make the most of our trip. And if you’re a current RV owner and considering a different model or type, renting an RV is a convenient way to test out some other options.
While there are many exciting places to eat in the area, I still wanted to be able to cook meals while vacationing. Plus, this allowed us to use that extra money saved on dining out to hit the slots.
Traveling Cross-Country With The Comforts Of Home
Since we were flying into Las Vegas I needed an RV that came with everything: sheets, towels, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. The RV we chose had all of this and so much more—it even had a full indoor kitchen and an outdoor cooking area.
A quick trip to the grocery store for some supplies, and we were ready to cook our first meal and enjoy the comforts of our RV rental. We picked up breakfast food, coffee, and some snacks to have on hand throughout the trip.
Our RV even had a full entertainment system that allowed us to enjoy a movie at the end of each day from the comfort of our RV living room.
Getting Comfortable With Our RV Rental
When we arrived at the campground for the first time, we were met by the RV owners, who set everything up for us and gave us a 30-minute tour of their RV. We learned how to use everything and were free to ask questions about things we were unsure of.
Pro Tip: It’s a good idea to take short videos during your RV tour to make sure you know how to work the different operating systems. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, the owners know their RV in and out and can help you figure things out easily to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Select A Great Location for Your Home Away From Home
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Las Vegas RV Resort while cooking and eating our meals. It was the best place to spend quality time and enjoy the great outdoors in the Vegas area.
I was really impressed with the campground. It was quiet and offered some gorgeous views, as well as lots of entertainment in the clubhouse. The pool and hot tub area were a welcome amenity, and the clubhouse also had a pool table, dartboard, exercise equipment, and a lounge area.
When we left the campground each morning, we enjoyed waving goodbye to the friendly faces in the security station and looked forward to greeting them on our way back into the park at the end of each day. I felt secure knowing there was a security team watching over the park 24/7 and that they were available if needed.
Everyone we met at the RV resort was friendly and since this is a pet-friendly park, I met a few furry friends during my stay. Now that I know about pet-friendly resorts and camper rentals, I won’t let travel get in the way of adopting a new furry friend.
