- 6 cups apple juice
- 1 orange rind, peeled into long strips
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 9 whole cloves
- 1 cup, plus a splash of unflavored mineral water
Combine apple juice, orange strips, cinnamon, cloves and 1 cup mineral water in a medium saucepan, bringing to the boil at medium-high heat, or place over campfire, weather permitting.
Bring to bubbling and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Strain through a sieve to discard solids. Add splash of mineral water and pour into mugs.
