Valentine's Day Campground Activities

Celebrate Valentine's Day with these campground activities including scavenger hunts, potlucks, and dance parties!

Some RV resorts across the Sunbelt offer Valentine’s Day dances, dinner shows, and other special events. But family campgrounds also get into the act, offering everything from Valentine’s Day craft activities to scavenger hunts, potlucks, and dance parties.

Since February 14 falls on a Friday this year, most Valentine’s-themed activities take place either the weekend before or the Saturday after Valentine’s Day.

Here’s a sampling of Valentine’s Day events taking place at campgrounds, RV parks, and resorts across the country:

  • Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Lodi: This campground celebrates Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16. Treat yourselves to a date night while the kids enjoy a Valentine exchange with friends. There will also be a golf cart decorating contest and parade.
     
  • San Diego Metro KOA Resort in Chula Vista: This park celebrates Valentine’s Day from Feb. 6-9 kids activities, including a scavenger hunt, Valentine’s Bingo, Valentine’s plaster painting, a “Not So Newlywed Valentine Game,” a Valentine’s indoor movie and a game of Valentine’s Uno.
     
  • San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in Petaluma: This park will celebrate its annual potluck-style Valentine’s crab and chicken dinner on Saturday, Feb. 15, with crab brought in fresh from Bodega Bay. The market price of the crab is yet to be determined. Guests are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share, along with tools to crack their crabs.
     
  • Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA in Watsonville: This campground celebrates Valentine’s Day the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with Valentine’s Day crafts and a slime-making activity. There will also be a dance party and Karaoke.
     
  • Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in Santee: This park will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 8 with craft activities for adults and children in the campground’s clubhouse.
     
  • Temecula KOA at Vail Lake in Temecula: Registered camping guests are invited to The Village for a sweetheart pancake breakfast on Feb. 15. A variety of Valentine’s Day activities will also be available at the activities table along with festive music and photo opportunities. The Bunkhouse Bar will offer seasonal cocktails and live music throughout the weekend.
  • Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Tabor City: This park will have family games to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16. Guests can also arrange for Yogi to deliver chocolate covered strawberries to your special someone.

  • The Waves RV Resort in Naples: On February 14, this resort will have a "Lover's Luau" with "everything Hawaiian from food to music and trivia," followed by a "Lover's Luau Dance."
  • Encore Sunshine RV Resort in Harlingen: This resort will have its annual Valentine’s Day dinner and dance party on Friday, Feb. 14.
     
  • Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Burleson: Valentine’s Day activities at this park are scheduled for Feb. 14-17 and include crafts, candy bar bingo, a “Blindfold Taste Challenge: Candy Edition,” and a “Sweethearts Dance.”
     
  • Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Canyon Lake: This park will celebrate Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with a kid’s Valentine exchange, a golf cart decorating contest and parade and a Valentine’s surprise, among other activities.
     
  • Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Kerrville: : This park will celebrate Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with a kid’s Valentine exchange, a golf cart decorating contest and parade and a Valentine’s surprise, among other activities.
     
  • Jellystone Park in Tyler: This park will celebrate Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with a kid’s Valentine exchange, a golf cart decorating contest and parade and a Valentine’s surprise, among other activities.
     
  • Jellystone Park in Wichita Falls: : This park will celebrate Valentine’s Day on the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with a kid’s Valentine exchange, a golf cart decorating contest and parade and a Valentine’s surprise, among other activities.
  • Adventures on the Gorge in Lansing: This adventure park has its own campground for RV and tent camping enthusiasts who come to enjoy whitewater rafting in the New River Gorge as well as ziplining. The campground is open in winter and lodging is also available. This park is planning two special dinners with live music over Valentine’s Day weekend, including gourmet dinners with live music on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15.
